Dear  International Academics,

ESN L’Aquila, in collaboration with Giffoni Innovation Hub, is pleased to promote Calascio Innovation Playground, an interdisciplinary and immersive residency that brings together creativity, innovation, STEM and the arts.

Location: Calascio (Abruzzo, Italy)

Accommodation will be provided at the historic Convento Santa Maria delle Grazie.

Dates: 12–14 February 2026
Participants: only 15 International Students, PhDs and trainees (selection-based)

Please note: This opportunity is exclusively open to international academics currently enrolled at universities in the Abruzzo region. Italian students are not eligible.

Cost: FREE of charge (activities, full board and accommodation)
Transportation from L’Aquila to Calascio is fully provided by the organizers.

Program Overview: With an outstanding educational offer and an equally remarkable accommodation setting you’ll dive into an international, stimulating and incredibly inspiring environment. Participants will engage in interdisciplinary workshops combining science, art, and storytelling; mentored labs and collaborative projects; exploration of the local territory as a space for research and experimentation; and the development of a collective final showcase highlighting Calascio’s identity and potential. At the end of the project, participants will also receive a Certificate of Participation.
